Description
Triple Mints XXL Feminized is a 70% indica hybrid boasting an impressive who’s-who of genetics. To create this strain, we started off with the classic Thin Mints Girl Scout Cookies and crossed that with a unique version of Garlic Bud created by Nevil Schoenmakers, the founder of The Seed Bank of Holland, which later became Sensi Seeds. Our breeders then crossed this with a blend of Animal Mints and Kush Mints, adding in another layer of GSC lineage.
Owing to their overwhelmingly indica genetics, Triple Mints XXL Feminized plants are incredibly compact without being overly bushy, making them an easy fit nearly anywhere. Their size and versatility, combined with their potential for XXL yields, make these plants an especially tempting choice for anyone with limited space, while their resin production makes them a great pick for creating extracts.
Growth pattern of Triple Mints XXL Feminized
Triple Mints XXL Feminized seeds tend to grow into fairly compact plants that are unlikely to ever outgrow their space. Overall, these plants are short and sturdy with a classically indica structure featuring dense branches, medium internodal spacing, and heavy colas that maintain a uniform shape across the canopy.
When grown indoors, these plants can be expected to reach maturity at a height of 10-32 inches. Grown outdoors, these plants can climb slightly taller, with heights in the range of 30-49 inches being normal. Despite their small size, Triple Mints XXL Feminized plants are still capable of generating XXL yields, with indoor growers capable of harvesting as much as 460-650 grams per square metre. Outdoors, yields can reach 550-750 grams per plant over the strain’s fairly short 60 to 65-day flowering period.
The buds themselves are round and compact with minimal leaf-to-calyx ratio, making trimming a relative breeze. However, their exceptionally dense coating of resin (which makes them great for extracts) is likely to gum up even the best shears.
These plants are rather versatile, but fit exceptionally well in a sea of green (SOG) setup. Their somewhat-long lateral branches can be woven through a screen of green (SCROG), though their fairly slow vegetative growth can make this a time-consuming operation. Likewise, these plants also respond well to lollipopping.
Taste and smell of Triple Mints XXL Feminized
As the name implies, Triple Mints XXL Feminized plants are known for their powerfully minty aroma. But mixed in with that, growers will find notes of nutty diesel, spicy garlic, and fresh pastries. While these plants are on the smaller side, their XXL flower production makes their scent quite powerful.
Once the buds have been properly harvested, dried, and cured, they retain their bold mint and cool gas scents, while sharpening those more subtle hints of roasted nuts and zesty, tangy undertones. The flavor is equally complex as a fresh blast of creamy mint hits hard and fast on the inhale, before evolving into a roasted, nutty, tangy exhale that leaves behind a lingering kushy sweetness for an overall smooth experience.

- This version of Garlic Bud was created by the founder of The Seed Bank of Holland, Nevil Schoenmakers, in the 1980s. We found these seeds in storage and decided to bring them back for this new strain.
- Animal Mints and Kush Mints (itself a descendant of Animal Mints) trace their roots back to Master Kush and are both offshoots of Thin Mints Girl Scout Cookies, leading to the Triple Mints moniker.
